Music Tips to Help your Event

Provide a "Must Play" List and a "DO NOT Play" list
Choose songs for key moments (i.e. entrance, first dance, last song, parents dances, special moments)
Tell your DJ your favorite genres and vibe you are looking for
Do you want guests to be able to make requests?
Do you have any family or culture traditions that you would want music to?

Timeline Tips

Confirm with vendors start/end times, and setup times
Identify key moments (Toasts, Cake, Dances, Etc.)
Decide when you want open dance floor
Let your DJ/EMCEE know who will be making speeches
Do you have any surprises planned? Let the DJ know

Setup Tips

Ask your vendors what power outlets they might need
Let your vendors know if indoor/outdoor | If outside what is the surface (concrete, grass, gravel)?
Make sure to give vendors enough time for setup (DJs usually need 2 hours for standard equipment)
Does the venue have restrictions (sound level, no fog, load in/out locations)?
Find out how much space your vendor needs

Flow Tips

Will DJ/EMCEE being doing announcements?
Provide Event Planner contact info to all vendors
Do you want a formal or casual feel to the event?
For name announcements provide phonetic spelling

Final Tips

Confirm event timeline with vendors - Especially DJ and Photographer/Videographer
Who is a second contact for your vendors?
Verify address and setup times with venue and vendors
